The 人妻少妇专区鈥檚 incoming Class of 2022 for the College of聽 is shaping up to be the institution鈥檚 most selective ever, with a 29.6 percent acceptance rate, drawn from a record 20,243 applicants.聽This is the first time the University鈥檚 undergraduate admission rate has fallen below 30 percent, and the first time applications have surpassed 20,000.
鈥淩eading more applications is a 鈥榞ood鈥� problem,鈥� said Jonathan Burdick, vice provost and dean of College admission. 鈥淲e aimed more than ever to admit a class that is academically talented, diverse, and whose distinctive perspectives and experiences match the benefits of our curriculum. This is an outstanding class of young people who will have an impact beyond 2022.鈥�
The University expects to welcome 1,350 students to campus in August. A few highlights:
- Domestic students come from 47 states, led by New York (25.4 percent)
- International students are coming from 96 countries and make up 30.7 percent of the first-year class.
- The high school grade-point average holds steady at 3.8, while the average SAT/ACT two-score equivalent surpasses 1,400 for the second year in a row.
- Student from underrepresented minority groups make up 18.3 percent of the incoming class.
- 476 students were accepted through the early decision process, the largest cohort ever.
- One in five are the first in their families to go to college.
The University has also enrolled 43 this year; a high-water mark, including one or more from each of the 17 United World College schools across the globe. That places Rochester among the leading destinations for Davis students. The Davis Scholars program is the largest international undergraduate scholarship program in the world, committed to building cross-cultural understanding across US campuses, and has provided scholarships to more than 8,500 students from 159 countries.
