Incoming students at the College and Eastman will arrive in August from more than 40 countries and 44 states.
The 人妻少妇专区鈥檚 incoming Class of 2026 for the College is expected to number around 1,500 undergraduate students from around the globe, with increases across all underrepresented demographics.
Final figures won鈥檛 be official until October, but Robert Alexander, dean of admissions, financial aid, and enrollment management for Arts, Sciences & Engineering, is excited about the diversity of the class.
The College Class of 2026 will represent more than 40 countries and 44 states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. There are nearly 100 students from California鈥攁bout 6 percent of the class鈥攚hich is a record for that state. International students will comprise 24 percent of the first-year class, with substantial increases in the number of students from India and South Korea.
Alexander says the College鈥檚 incoming class has a cohort-wide grade-point average of 3.76, with impressive curricular rigor and character strengths that align with Rochester鈥檚 Meliora values.聽聽First-generation students make up more than 22 percent of the class.
鈥淚 commend the undergraduate admission, financial aid, and enrollment team on an astoundingly successful outcome for fall 2022,鈥 Alexander says. 鈥淣ot only do our new students have outstanding academic qualifications, they come from backgrounds that will facilitate robust discussions representing diverse perspectives in our classrooms and residence halls.鈥
The expects 130 first-year students from eight countries and 30 states. Matthew Ardizzone, Eastman鈥檚 associate dean of admissions and enrollment management, says that numbers for Hispanic, Latinx, Asian Americans, and international students are up.
First-year international students will arrive on campus beginning August 22, with domestic students moving in August 23. Classes for the fall term begin August 31.
