
“The Whole World is Gone” by associate professor of English Jennifer Grotz was selected as the “Poem-a-Day” poem for February 4, 2014, by the Academy of American Poets.
Her most recent work, 2013’s The Psalms of All My Days,聽is a book of translations from the French of the poet Patrice de La Tour du Pin. Her 2011 book The Needle was named one of the five best聽books of poetry published in that year by NPR.
She was the , an award given by the English department each year to the聽Rochester-area resident who has “created extraordinary artistic work in any medium in the past year.”聽Grotz joined the English department at the University in 2009 and teaches courses in translation, poetry writing, and modern and contemporary American and European poetry.
