Lisa Swain is in her second year of a four-year term as deputy mayor of Fair Lawn, N.J. She writes: 鈥淥ne of the more fun things I get to do, in addition to helping run our municipality, is marrying people. I鈥檓 also raising two teenage girls, one of whom is starting to look at colleges, and we hope to visit UR soon.鈥�

Forrest Strauss has been elected president of the Orange County (N.Y.) Bar Association for 2009鈥�10. He has also been elected to the New York State Bar Association鈥檚 House of Delegates, where he represents the association鈥檚 Ninth District, and is the president of the New York State Association of Disciplinary Counsel. . . . Jeff Newmark has accepted a position as a solar physics program scientist in the heliophysics division of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA headquarters. An astrophysicist with specialized interests in the temperature and density structure and dynamics of the solar atmosphere and heliosphere, Jeff moves from the Naval Research Laboratory, where he focused on space experimentation, specifically instrument design, calibration, operations, and data聽analysis.

Stephen Kass received a master鈥檚 degree in theology from Seton Hall University and a Pope John Paul II Award for academic excellence. After leaving the Navy as a lieutenant commander, he earned a master鈥檚 degree in nuclear engineering from North Carolina State University. He works at Seton Hall and lives with his wife, Beverly, in Pequannock, N. J.

Dave Abrams writes: 鈥淥ne of my resolutions for 2009 was to try to stay in better contact with old friends, so I am writing to update some of my long lost classmates on my whereabouts in hopes of reconnecting. After leaving Rochester and spending six years on active duty in the Navy, I joined the world of mergers and acquisitions and have been involved in manufacturing ever since. I ventured off on my own in 1996, acquiring a composites company in San Diego with one of my Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity brothers, Mark Snyder 鈥�88. We grew successfully and sold that company in 2000, after which I acquired an electronic components company in San Diego, which did not end as well amidst the dotcom meltdown. I became a hired gun in 2003, taking over as the CEO of a plastics manufacturing company based in the Los Angeles area. I sold that company in 2007, and in 2008, became the CEO of a food manufacturing company, also based in Los Angeles, which is where I am today. I live in San Marino (near Pasadena) with my wife of 16 years, Amanda, and our two children, Daniel, 12, and Allison, 9. I would love to hear from any of my Sig Ep brothers, NROTC classmates and lost friends from the Class of 鈥�87. I鈥檓 looking forward to our 25th year reunion in 2012.鈥�
