1956 Arvin Lovaas (MS) died last December, his wife, Judy Barker Lovaas 鈥�60, 鈥�61N, 鈥�64N (MS), writes. 鈥淢y husband loved his experience at U of R, as did I.鈥� Judy notes that Arvin was a research assistant to John Hursh, a faculty member at the Medical Center, before earning a PhD in radiation biology from Colorado State University. They collaborated on multiple studies on the absorption of radiation by animal and human tissues.

1962 Geoffrey Sperber (MS), a professor emeritus of medicine and dentistry at the University of Alberta, writes that the university has established an annual lectureship in his name.

1971 Ward Buckingham (Res) has published Hope for Challenged Airline Pilots: An Untold Success Story (Ward Buckingham), which addresses pilot alcoholism treatment.
