Training

In an effort to reduce sexual misconduct, the Title IX Office utilizes a range of campaigns, strategies, and initiatives to promote awareness, education, harm reduction, and prevention programming and training.

The 人妻少妇专区 is committed to fostering a culture of prevention and awareness around ending sexual violence, fostering relationship respect, and creating consent culture.

 

The University requires sexual misconduct prevention training as part of its commitment to a healthy and respectful campus community. Mandatory trainings covering Title IX topics are required for all students, faculty, and staff during the onboarding process.

Additionally, the team at the Title IX Office, student leaders, and other community members lead interactive outreach efforts throughout the year to help educate the University community on prevention, creating consent culture, being a BADASS Bystander, how to support friends, understanding the 人妻少妇专区鈥檚 Policies on sexual misconduct and Title IX, and related topics. Our Prevention and Education Staff trains over 12,000 students and over 39,000 employees annually!

The University regularly invites partners from organizations with expertise on these topics to lead educational programming. Programs have included聽, workshops, film screenings,听,听,听,听Medallion Leadership Program classes, information tables, and more!

The Title IX Prevention and Education team welcomes and encourages student and employee involvement in our prevention and awareness work on campus! There are several trainings to participate in. Learn more about each training and request one below.

Title IX Office Signature Programming

The Title IX Office offers educational programming for student groups, departments, and organizations upon request. You may select from one of the signature programs we currently offer, or let us know more about your training needs when you complete the training form below.

Unpacking Sexual Misconduct (Medallion Program)

Revisit and expand on your sexual misconduct training from your first year by discussing how you can be leaders in preventing sexual assault and promoting a safe, consent-focused environment for yourself, your friends, and your community. It鈥檚 on all of us to prevent sexual misconduct at the 人妻少妇专区 and wherever our journey in life takes us.

BADASS Bystander (Medallion Program)

人妻少妇专区's BADASS Bystander square logoTake the extra step to empower and protect yourself, friends, and community members by becoming a BADASS Bystander! Utilizing role-plays, participants will be observing a potentially harmful situation, and rather than being passive bystanders, they will utilize skills to be active bystanders who take action to interrupt harm and generate positive actions by others. This program will help participants gain crucial skills to take action and start an effective conversation to address and prevent instances of sexual misconduct.

Duration: 2.5 hours
Style: PowerPoint lecture with audio/visual aid, videos, interactive role plays involving participants, and group discussion.

A Guide to Title IX

This program is an overview of Title IX, defining prohibited behavior as listed in the University Title IX Policy, and reporting options. This is a great introduction to what the Title IX process is like and what the expectations are for our community.

Sexual Misconduct Jeopardy!

Gather your friends together for a fun and educational sexual misconduct jeopardy game! Tell us the categories Ken Jennings! – Yes means Yes, Bye Bye Bystander, Hashtags#, Myth or Fact, Show Me the Numbers and Title IX Galore. This is a fully immersive Jeopardy experience and is a fun way to test your basic knowledge and engage a group.

Duration: 1.5 hours
Style: Interactive and immersive Jeopardy program.

Mandatory Employee Training

This training will meet the requirements for all employees, staff, and faculty of the University who are a Mandatory Reporter. This includes student-employees in Residential Life and all student-employees with a responsibility for teaching and advising.

Whether you are a new hire or your Department needs annual training on mandatory reporting obligations and steps to take, this training will cover those requirements.

Don't Cancel That Class!

Are you faculty or an instructor who can鈥檛 make it to class and are considering canceling it?

Don鈥檛 Cancel That Class! As an alternative to canceling class, let the Title IX Office present to your students and take advantage of your valuable class time!

The Prevention Education Team is dedicated to providing training and education tailored to fit the needs of the University community as it relates to sexual misconduct prevention topics. If you have a training or program request that falls outside of what is predefined above, please provide further detail by submitting a training request below and we will contact you to further discuss your request.

Public awareness/advocacy events

If you disclose a situation through a public awareness event such as 鈥淭ake Back the Night鈥, candlelight vigils, protests, student organization or other event or forum, or other public events, the 人妻少妇专区 is not obligated to begin an investigation. The 人妻少妇专区 may use the information you provided to inform the need for additional education and prevention efforts.
