Overview

We can't wait to welcome you to campus! To make arrival and move-in as smooth as possible, you will be need to arrive on one of two arrival days. You are required to arrive on campus or move into on-campus housing on the day you selected when you signed up for a move-in time, unless you are a participant in an approved UR early arrival program (see below).

All commuter students (those living off-campus) should plan to arrive on campus on Tuesday, August 19.

Fall arrival day components

Your arrival day will consist of three required steps. You'll pick up your campus ID card, your room key, welcome items, and your textbooks and course materials. If your family members are with you, they can also attend Welcome Week check-in to pick up their own welcome item.

UR Essentials textbook pick-up

Required for all students
If you confirmed your course materials after registering for classes through your UR Essentials portal, your textbooks will be available to pick up from the University Bookstore in College Town.

Commuter students

If you are living off-campus, you should plan to complete your arrival check-in steps on Tuesday, August 19. You can park in Library Lot between 9–4 p.m. and follow the signs directly to Welcome Week check-in in Wilson Commons.

Select a move-in time slot

If you are living on campus, you'll also need to select a specific move-in time slot on your arrival day. You will not be allowed to move in any earlier than the beginning of your time slot (no exceptions). You'll find the instructions to sign up for your move-in time slot in your housing assignment email, which will arrive in your Rochester email inbox from Residential Life by the date listed on the new student checklist.

Delayed luggage

If your luggage is lost upon traveling to Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) and the airline has confirmed that they will deliver it to you upon retrieval, please direct them to bring it to the ÈËÆÞÉÙ¸¾×¨Çø Information Center (Room 201), located on the second floor of Wilson Commons.
